How many hours does my team need?

As a rule of thumb, testing takes approximately 30-40 minutes per web page.

How many rounds of testing are required to ensure a site or app is fully accessible?

Basic content pages typically require two rounds of testing – the initial review and a final review to ensure issues have been corrected. More complex apps may require additional rounds of testing, depending on where within a process the app became inaccessible.

There are plenty of free browser extensions to test my website for accessibility.
Why do I need manual testing?

Testing with users of adaptive technologies can give you a much better understanding of the true experience of your application or website. In addition, we can provide a more in-depth explanation of issues after examination.

What’s the difference between a usability review and a WCAG audit?

A WCAG audit tests each element on each page of a site or app to the standards specified in WCAG version 2.1, level AA. A usability review tests pages or page templates for general accessibility but does not include each item on the WCAG list.

What platforms do you use for testing?

We use Chrome and a free screen reader called NVDA as well as a mobile device of your choosing by default. We can test using other platforms such as Firefox and both mobile operating systems upon request. Additional configurations may require extended time for testing.

Can I refer my clients directly to Outlook Business Solutions for digital accessibility testing?

Yes, however, Outlook Business Solutions may not be able to remediate the issues we find. Remediation would be done by you or your client’s internal team.

If I don’t use all my hours, do they roll over to the next month?

For annual subscribers, unused hours may be rolled from one month to the next. We are unable to offer rollovers for monthly subscribers.

Can I start with a monthly subscription and then convert to an annual subscription?

Absolutely! Your annual subscription discount will be applied to the 12 months following your switch from a monthly subscription. Annual subscription discounts are not retroactive.

Can I use Ally Support without a subscription

Yes. Our open rate for accessibility support outside the subscription program is $200/hour, billed in 15-minute increments.

Will Outlook Business Solutions do digital accessibility training for my team without a subscription?

Yes, our 2-hour accessibility workshop for developers is $200 per team member, delivered in person or
virtually at your preference. We also offer free 1-hour monthly webinars for marketing and sales team
members to learn how to sell clients on the importance of accessibility.

What if I need more hours in a month than I’ve subscribed for?

Your additional hours would be charged at the hourly rate for your current subscription level. For example, if you subscribe for 5 hours per month, but in one month you need 7 hours, the additional 2 hours would be charged at the 5-hour subscription rate of $150 per hour.

Do I need a separate subscription for each of my company's domains?

No. Your Ally Support subscription hours can be used for any domain owned by your company.
